BORNEO ORANGUTAN SURVIVAl
UNITED KINGDOM
WE LOVE ORANGUTAN
Born in a little kingdom in Borneo, I have many fond memories of growing up in a tranquil environment surrounded by ethereal lush jungle and an abundance of nature.
Now I have an opportunity to give something back to my native land through supporting the wonderful work of, and giving a portion of our profits to, BOS-UK.
I am passionate about Vui Vui’s collaboration with, and raising awareness of, BOS-UK and hope that our contribution helps in saving endangered orangutan and the rainforests of Borneo. Without orangutan there won’t be a rainforest and vice-versa.
WHY BOS-UK?
Their mission is to save the orangutan through rescuing and rehabilitating them, with an ultimate goal of releasing them back to the forest where they will be safe from human development, poaching and farming.
In addition to raising the profile of BOS UK on our website and through our social media, we donate 3% of net quarterly profits to their valuable work.
ONCE IN A LIFETIME BORNEO Experience

our ADOPTED ORANGUTANs
In June 2016, 5 month old Mema was handed in to Nyaru Menteng in a cardboard box, she was close to dying of starvation and exhaustion. A local villager claimed to have come across her whilst searching for firewood in a burned peat area. Peat forest fires kill many orangutans, and this is possibly Mema's mother’s fate, but she would have attempted to flee the fire and wouldn't have left her baby alone. Orangutan mother will protect their babies to the death, curling up around them in an attempt to protect them, so we'll never really know what happened.
Jelapat was being kept as a pet illegally by a local villager in Central Kalimantan. The local resident, who had named him Jelapat, claimed to have found him wandering alone and weak in a gold-mining area. Forest fires had devastated the area around that time, destroying all the trees and blanketing the region in a thick haze: Sadly, his mother undoubtedly perished in the fires or was killed intentionally.
